摘要

The hospital survey on patient safety culture has been widely used to assess the patient safety culture of a health organization. This survey was translated into Chinese version along with three additional dimensions from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. However, there is no study to discuss the contextual relationships of safety dimensions in patient safety culture. This study uses decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method to assess the causal relationships among nine safety dimensions in Taiwan from experts' opinions. The results show that teamwork climate and hospital management support for patient safety are the causal dimensions that directly have positive impacts on six safety dimensions except for stress recognition. Stress recognition is a relatively neutral dimension without affecting other dimensions or being influenced by other dimensions. To continuously improve patient safety culture in Taiwan, teamwork climate and hospital management support for patient safety are the two essential dimensions for health organizations.
