Fast switching mechanism of the silica nanoparticle-doped liquid crystal devices

摘要

We investigate switching mechanisms of the silica nanoparticle-doped (SND) liquid crystal (LC) cell. The doped silica nanoparticles introduce disorder to LCs, decreasing the order parameter of the LCs. The decreased order parameter decreases the rotational viscosity of the LCs, decreasing the response time of SND LC cell.
