Abstract
In this paper, a flyback converter based power supply with half-isolation is implemented for trunk amplifier applications. The proposed approach provides isolation for the amplifier from the high input voltages while keeping the power source and the transmitted signal at the same ground level. The circuit structure and its analysis are discussed in detail. Then, a prototype is built and the experimental verification with the predicted performance is presented. Finally, the power supply is operated under variant load conditions to demonstrate its dynamic performance.
