Poincaré cycle of an Ehrenfest multiurn model in a one-dimensional ring

Abstract

An Ehrenfest model of a one-dimensional ring was studied. The model generalizes the directed transport to arbitrary transports. The evolution of the system was studied and the Poincaré cycle was calculated. Results show that the average number of balls in an urn evolves according to the transport probability.
