Optical properties of CdxZn1-xTe epilayers grown by molecular-beam epitaxy

Abstract

A study was performed on optical properties of CdxZn 1-xTe epilayers grown by molecular-beam epitaxy. By taking reflectance (R) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements, the optical properties of the epilayers were studied. The energy gaps of the epilayers were determined and shown to decrease as the Cd concentration increased, from the R and PL spectra.
