In-vehicle telematics and information platform for transportation management and logistics system

Abstract

In this paper, an In-Vehicle Telematics and Information System (IVTIS) is proposed as a platform for the Transportation Management and Logistics System (TMLS) in managing vehicle transportation and increase efficiency for logistic support. In the proposed TMLS platform, a wireless communication network is utilized to provide the location-based and mission services to the in-vehicle drivers and operators, while the in-vehicle network is also established to provide online logistics support applications utilizing advanced information and communication technology (ICT). The prototype of the TMLS is demonstrated as well.
