Abstract
Recently, Tan et al. proposed an efficient smart card-oriented remote login authentication scheme. The scheme has several merits: (i) the user can freely choose his password; (ii) no verification tables are required; and (iii) the computation overhead is low. However, the authors show the insecurity of Tan-Zhu's scheme.
