Dispersion characteristics of the anisotropic dielectric strip waveguides with trapezoidal cross-section

Abstract

The anisotropic dielectric strip waveguide with trapezoidal cross-section is analyzed using a volume integral eqaution formulation. Results show that varying z (x)-component of the dielectric strip permittivity gives stronger effect on the dispersion relation of the TM-like (TE-like) strip mode due to its larger Ez (Ex) field distribution.
