Abstract
Reactions Of RuCl(PPh3)(PCP) (PCP = 2,6-(PPh2CHa)2C6H3) with PhC≡CH and HC≡CC-(OH)Ph2 gave the unusual coupling products RuCl(PPh3)(η4-PhCH=C-2,6-(PPh2CH 2)2C6H3) and RuCl(PPh3)(η4-Ph2C(OH)CH=C-2,6-(PPh 2CH2)2C6H3), respectively. Dehydration was observed in the coupling reactions Of RuCl(PPh3)(PCP) with HC=CC(OH)PhMe and HC≡C-cyclo-C6H10(OH). Thus, the coupling products RuCl(PPh3)(η4-CH2=CPhCH=C-2,6-(PPh 2-CH2)2C6H3) and RuCl(PPh3)(η4-cyclo-C6H 9-CH=C-2,6-(PPh2CH2)2C 6H3) were obtained from the reactions of RuCl(PPh3(PCP) with HC=CC(OH)PhMe and HC=C-cyclo-C6H10(OH), respectively. Treatment of [Ru(PMe3)2(PCP)]BF4 with PhC=CH produced [Ru(PMe3)2(η4-PhCH=C-2)6-(PPh 2CH2)2C6H3)]BF 4.
