N2 - Electro-optical properties of the hybrid-aligned nematic liquid crystal cell doped with silica nanoparticles were investigated. The bistable behavior of the cell is attributed to the electrophoretic motion of the doped nanoparticles, and the memory characteristics of the cell can be controlled by modulating the amplitude, pulse length and frequency of the supplied voltage-pulse.
