Abstract
The adsorption of a single polyelectrolyte on a high-dielectric substrate in which the image charge attraction was strong, was studied. The adsorption transition occurs at low ionic strength, when surface charge are repulsive. It was observed that in a low ionic strength medium, the parameter of the adsorption transition follows a linear relation with a surface charge density. The result shows that the polyelectrolyte is compressed with any conformational change before the desorption.
