A second-harmonic electroreflectance study of a coupled GaAs-AlGaAs double quantum well

Abstract

Electroreflectance (ER) spectroscopy is used to study a GaAs-AlGaAs symmetrically coupled double quantum well as a function of external bias. By comparing the ER spectra taken at the second-harmonic and fundamental (1f) modulation frequencies, and the first derivative of the 1f spectrum, the features associated with red and blue shifts are unambiguously identified.
