Abstract
In this paper, the i-Φ hysteresis characteristic of transformer is modeled and simulated by curve fitting technique, including a consuming function for representing hysteresis loss. The proposed method is established from the measured hysteresis data, and allows direct calculation of hysteresis losses. This analytical expression also exhibits the hysteresis property of increasing the loop area with increment of operation frequency. The simulations by the proposed method are compared with experiments. For various purposes of the transformer hysteresis characteristic, the proposed method has the adjustable capability to meet other requirements. It is capable to determine an accurate transformer hysteresis characteristic with simplified procedures.
