A method for determining the IEC flickermeter correction factor–applied to 110 V/60 Hz Taiwan power system

Abstract

This study proposes a method for determining the IEC flickermeter correction factor so that the corrected measurement values can truthfully represent the flicker severity in various countries with different-voltage power systems. Taking the example of the Taiwan power system with 110 V/60 Hz, a new voltage flicker weighting curve suitable for a 110 V/60 Hz power system is determined as well as the correction factor. The IEC standard has been not yet announced the 110 V/60 Hz power system correction factor. The results of this study should help the Taiwan Power Utility Company to adopt the IEC 61000-4-15 standard in the future.
