一、 設所緣起與宗旨 彰化舊名半線,或稱磺溪,山川毓秀,文風鼎盛,藝師、作家輩出,是台灣中部地區政治文化產業交通的重鎮。基於地緣,彰化師範大學肩負培育台灣文學 研究人才,輔助鄉土教材編撰與教法研究,以及提升台灣文學研究風氣等任務。歷經五年申請,終於在民國九十四年(2005)年獲准成立台灣文學研究 所。本所設立宗旨為:扎根半線,挖掘人文資源,整合民俗藝術;探索台灣詩歌,締造詩學研究中心;建構彰化學,重現半線風華。
